“Later She’ll Dance” is an abstract, narrative short film set to the song of the same title by music artist, Nikita The Wicked. I co-directed, filmed, and edited this project alongside Natalie Hunt.
This project depicts a young woman who is overwhelmed by the stress of everyday life, until she gradually begins returning back to nature. We wanted to relay the message that we, as humans, are natural beings and sometimes going back to our most organic roots is both needed and freeing.
Throughout the film, we juxtapose natural settings versus man-made, electronic society. In the same way, we also show the contrast between the subject’s emotions when in day-to-day life versus when she breaks free into nature and returns to her roots.
