During my time as the in-house graphic designer and content creator for Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy (HVMB), I led the visual development and rollout of a new feature on our website called “Curated Collections.” This project aimed to elevate the luxury vacation rental browsing experience by grouping together hand-selected homes based on specific themes (e.g., Beachfront Escapes, Mountain Retreats).

The core challenge was that our existing collections were misleading; auto-generated by location rather than curated by aesthetic or experience. For instance, a “Beachfront” collection might simply show every home in Florida, many of which weren’t on a beach at all. Our system lacked the technical capabilities for intelligent filtering, so I proposed a manual, visually led curation method based on content I was already creating for social media. I had already handpicked over 20 themed collections while sourcing homes with unique features/characteristics for Instagram and Facebook posts. I presented these to leadership, which kickstarted the project.

I was given the opportunity to design a logo for the Curated Collections. I designed a flexible logo system using Adobe Illustrator, ensuring each logo variation adhered to our brand standards while visually reflecting the theme of each collection. I then animated the logos in Adobe After Effects to create a hand-drawn effect, reinforcing the “personally selected” message behind the campaign.
For the launch campaign, I worked cross-functionally with Marketing to develop taglines and naming conventions for each collection. I partnered with Business Development to ensure the homes I’d selected for marketing features had strong reviews and represented the brand well.
 Collaborating with the Website/Tech Team, I helped plan how to design the user flow, homepage visuals, and category pages. I led all imagery selection, editing, resizing, and formatting for web, email, and social using Adobe Photoshop and Bridge.
I created both static and animated social media content using a combination of Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Canva to promote the launch on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
